How did you first get into administrative work?
My first experience working in administration was during college. I interned with two talent management agencies in New York City during the summers. My role was to be the main assistant to the three talent agents that worked there. It was a great blend of artistic decision making and learning how to organize a small business.
Is there a particular task or project that you find especially rewarding?
The task that I find most rewarding is the time I spend guiding clients through the initial intake process. Many clients, especially their parents, are very nervous about getting this process started. They usually have many questions and are occasionally overwhelmed. I am proud to help these families improve the quality of their lives by providing clear information and by advising them on how they might want to proceed to the best of my ability.
What is the most satisfying part of helping support a team?
The most satisfying part of helping support a team is seeing the stress of those around me decrease. I work hard to bring consistent energy to the office every day and to be a reliable resource for my coworkers to depend on.
Do you have a go-to work hack or organization tip you swear by?
My go-to organization hack is to always know where I am writing something down. It is very important to write things down, so we don’t forget tasks and other information, but it is just as crucial to remember where you wrote that information down. If you cannot locate it later, then you might as well have just tried to commit it to memory from the start. Having designated places to record certain information is key for me. When I am presented with new information that does not have a specific place, I am intentional to create one for it before I move too far along.
What’s one thing your coworkers would be surprised to learn about you?
My coworkers would be surprised to know that I am a classical pianist. I have been playing piano since I was six years old, and I was a finalist for the New York State School Music Association annual showcase conference in 2017.
When you’re not working, how do you like to unwind or recharge?
When I’m not working, you will find me actively pursuing my second career in the arts. I am an actor, singer, and dancer who performs at theaters throughout the Chicagoland area and in regional and national commercials. In my actual downtime, I love to hang out with my girlfriend Hanna and our cat Beverly. We love to spend time outside or watch whatever sports are on T.V. that night (especially the NBA).
