Maya Patel recently graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. Over the past three years, she has worked at Mt. Hope Family Center, where she contributed to research examining the effects of childhood maltreatment and domestic violence on marginalized groups. While studying abroad in London, Maya interned at Growing Hope, a nonprofit that offers free therapy to children with physical and cognitive disabilities. She plans to continue her passion for both research and clinical work by pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Outside of her time at Cognitive Solutions LC, Maya enjoys spending time with her family which consists of one sister, five step siblings, and four dogs.
